WHY 12TH STREET?

Because this roadway is important for motorists and alternative transportation (public transit, pedestrians, bicyclists), it is important to remedy the lack of bike lanes and sidewalks. This street reconstruction effort is funded by a countywide sales tax. This project aligns with the City's master planning policies and designs, which follow the recently developed Complete Street Design Guidelines

BENCHMARK DATES

  • March 1, 2021: Construction Phase I begins (S. Kansas to SW Washburn)

  • 2022: Construction Phase II: SW Washburn to SW Gage

  • Note: Please be aware you may see utility relocation underway in areas outside the planned construction phasing, in preparation for future construction.
